While you are Christmas shopping, writes a friend, please keep the YWCA shelter on your list. They house women and children who are victims of domestic abuse and unfortunately have a full house this time of year. Here is a needs list from Amy O’Pry, the new executive director at the YWCA.

The following is our Monthly Shelter Grocery Needs List, which is needed currently.

The Christmas gifts are coming along well. We surely need Christmas gift wrapping items such as wrapping paper, tape, ribbon to make bows, or pre-made bows, tissue paper, boxes, and gift bags. The mothers will "shop" from items donated and will then wrap their children's gifts.

Items needed for the kitchen pantry:

1. milk

2. cheese slices/or shredded

3.fresh fruit and vegetables(apples,oranges,bananas) (lettuce/tomatoes)

4. chili

5. weinere/lunch meat

6. canned ravioli, and meatballs

7.cookies/crackers

8. kool-aide/ or punch

9. coffee

10.salad dressings-ranch,thousand island etc.

We also need washing detergent, large buckets if possible, bleach,and lysol spray.
